Privacy Policy

HighSchool LEARN Academy ("we", "us") provides an online learning platform for high school students, including students receiving special education services. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account information: name, email address, and role (student, teacher, or admin).
- Learning activity: lessons started and completed, quiz answers and scores, and badges earned.
- Teacher content: classroom plans, weekly planner entries, IEP goals, and notes created by teachers.
- Connected accounts: if a teacher chooses to connect Google Classroom, we access only the class, roster, and assignment data needed to display it in the app.
How we use information
- To deliver lessons and save each student's progress.
- To let teachers view progress, generate reports, and track IEP goals.
- To keep accounts secure and to operate and improve the platform.
We do not sell student data, use it for behavioral advertising, or build advertising profiles from it.
Who can see student information
Students can see their own progress. Teachers and administrators of your school can see the progress and IEP records of students in the program. Teacher planners are private to the teacher who created them. We share data with service providers who host the platform on our behalf, and when required by law.
Student privacy (FERPA & COPPA)
Student records are handled as school records under FERPA and are used only for legitimate educational purposes at the direction of the school. For students under 13, the school provides consent on behalf of parents in accordance with COPPA. Parents and guardians may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their student's records by contacting the school or teacher.
Data retention and security
We keep account and progress data while an account is active and for a reasonable period afterward, unless the school requests deletion. Access is protected by authenticated logins and permission rules that limit who can view each record.
Google Classroom data
When a teacher connects Google Classroom, we use that access only to show their classes, rosters, and coursework inside the app. A teacher can disconnect at any time, and we stop accessing that data. We do not transfer Google user data to third parties or use it for advertising.
Your choices
- Request a copy of, correction of, or deletion of your information.
- Disconnect a linked Google Classroom account.
- Close your account at any time.
